These terms explain how we work together when you plan and book a journey with Selah Journeys. We have written them as clearly as we can. If anything is unclear, just ask us.

2. Words we use

3. When these terms apply

These terms apply to all advice, proposals, bookings and other services of Selah Journeys. The conditions of the suppliers also apply to their own services, for example an airline’s conditions of carriage. We share those conditions with you on request, and point out the important ones in your proposal.

4. What we do, and our role

4.1 We advise on, plan and book travel services, and offer visa assistance and concierge support.

4.2 Separate travel services. When we book a single travel service for you, such as only a flight or only a hotel, we act as an intermediary. The agreement for that service is between you and the supplier, and the supplier’s conditions apply. We are responsible for giving you careful advice and booking correctly.

4.3 Package travel. When we combine travel services into package travel, we are the organiser and the statutory rules on package travel (Title 7A of Book 7 of the Dutch Civil Code) apply in addition to these terms. Before you book, we give you the standard information the law prescribes.

4.4 Visa assistance. We help you prepare and check your application and explain the requirements. The decision is always made by the authorities, so approval is never certain and processing times are outside our control. Fees paid to authorities or visa service providers are usually not refunded if a visa is refused.

5. Proposals and prices

5.1 Our proposals are free and without obligation. Prices and availability are only certain once your booking is confirmed. Airline fares in particular can change until the tickets are issued.

5.2 Prices are in euros and include VAT where it applies. Your proposal shows the total price and any service fee. Costs you pay locally, such as tourist tax, are mentioned where we know them.

5.3 We are not bound by an obvious mistake in a proposal, such as a clear typing error in a price.

5.4 After your booking is confirmed, the price only changes where the law allows it. For package travel, this is set out in article 7:507 of the Dutch Civil Code. If a price increase is more than 8% of the total price of your package, you may cancel without cancellation costs.

6. Booking

6.1 Your booking is made when you accept our proposal in writing, for example by email or WhatsApp, and we confirm the booking in writing.

6.2 You book on behalf of all travellers named in the booking and are responsible for the payments. Please make sure your fellow travellers know and accept these terms.

6.3 Names must be given exactly as they appear in the passport. Costs of correcting names that were given incorrectly are for your account.

6.4 Please check your booking confirmation and travel documents as soon as you receive them, and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.

7. Payment

How deposits, payment in parts and final payment work is set out in our payment terms. In short: everything is paid at least two weeks before departure.

8. Changes and cancellation by you

You can ask us to change or cancel your booking. What this costs depends on the travel services and the suppliers’ conditions, as explained in our cancellation policy.

For package travel, you may transfer your booking to someone else who meets all the conditions of the journey, if you tell us at least 7 days before departure. You and the new traveller are both responsible for paying the remaining price and any extra costs of the transfer.

9. Changes and cancellation by us or a supplier

9.1 If a supplier changes or cancels a service, for example a new flight schedule, we let you know as soon as possible and help you find a good alternative. The supplier’s conditions and your legal passenger rights apply, such as the EU rules for flight delays and cancellations.

9.2 For package travel: if we have to change an important part of your journey before departure, we tell you straight away. You may then accept the change or cancel without cancellation costs. If we cancel your package, we refund everything you paid within 14 days. You may also be entitled to compensation, unless the cancellation is caused by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances.

10. Passports, visas and health

You are responsible for having a valid passport or ID, the right visas, and the vaccinations and health documents your destination and any transit countries require. Many countries ask for a passport that is valid for at least six months after your journey. We give general information and help with visas if you ask, but the official requirements are leading. Costs caused by missing or incorrect travel documents are for your account.

11. Travel insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance and cancellation insurance for every journey. They can cover costs that we and the suppliers cannot refund, for example when you have to cancel because of illness.

12. Our liability

12.1 For separate travel services, we are liable for mistakes in our own advice and booking work. The supplier is responsible for providing its service.

12.2 For package travel, we are liable as the organiser under the law. Where the law allows it, our liability is limited to three times the total price of the package. This limit does not apply to personal injury, or to damage caused intentionally or through negligence.

12.3 We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost income, unless it is caused by our intent or gross negligence.

12.4 You are liable for damage you or your fellow travellers cause to suppliers or others during the journey.

13. Help during your journey

If something goes wrong during your journey, contact us on WhatsApp +31 6 87915060 and we will help where we can. For package travel, we offer appropriate assistance if you are in difficulty, as the law requires.

14. Complaints

14.1 If something is not right during your journey, tell the supplier on the spot and let us know straight away, so that it can be solved while you are there.

14.2 If a complaint is not solved during your journey, send it to us in writing as soon as possible after your return, preferably within 30 days, with a description and any photos or documents. We reply within 14 days.

14.3 If we cannot solve it together, the dispute can be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you may also go to the court of your place of residence.

15. Privacy

We handle your personal data with care, as explained in our privacy policy.

16. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms and to our agreements. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory law of your country gives you.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on the date you booked.
